SkyDrive: Microsoft donates new synchronization features

Microsoft has released updates to SkyDrive. On the one hand, the number of users has nearly doubled in the past six months and on the other hand there is an update for the cloud software. This update brings SkyDrive users a sensible and important innovation. From now on – as with the Dropbox – individual folders can be selected, which should be synchronized on individual devices via the Cloud service.

SkyDrive: new synchronization features

This allows complete file archives to be managed on a main computer or a NAS, while on a mobile phone, only the photos or the music should be kept up to date. The new SkyDrive apps are available for Windows PCs, Mac computers, and smartphones, such as Windows Phone, Android, and iOS tablets. For Windows Phone, Microsoft has also implemented performance improvements.

In addition, there are improvements to the SkyDrive software for Windows Phone users, as well as improved search and upload capabilities. Android users can now upload files from an SD card via SkyDrive to SkyDrive. Likewise, the SkyDrive version for the Google operating system now integrates the ability to rename files and folders.

On the official website you can find the blog entry on SkyDrive user numbers and the update. To illustrate the new SkyDrive features, the Windows 8 developer has released a video, which can be seen below.
