Sony discovered the topic Near Field Communication (NFC) for itself. Whether mobile phone, sounddocks, soundbar or new server, the new home cinema and network players of the manufacturer are equipped with the extra. The Japanese want to give the topic of the network a new comfort score. Thanks to NFC technology, a touch of the mobile device with one of the partners is sufficient and it is already playing or receiving the data. Manual pairing of any kind is omitted.
Ultra-HD and OLED TVs
The new smartphone flagship Xperia Z, presented at the press conference, could play a central role. It attracts attention with a 5-inch 1080p screen and gleams inconspicuously with a quad-core processor for powerful picture and data performance. The integrated camera comes at 13 megapixels.

In addition to small and larger speakers, thanks to NFC the sound of the Xperia Z after a short touch, Sony also presented its own server solution. In it is a 1-terabyte hard disk, which can store data not only itself. Because the server is connected to the Internet, it can also send the data to the cloud, ensuring constant access. Just touch the Xperia or other NFC devices, and the data will move from the mobile to the Sony server.
Sony has also introduced new things to the topic of Ultra High Definition. From spring, the two 4K TVs FSM-65 and FSL-55 will inspire the home cinema in the USA. Around the middle of the year the introduction into Europe is planned (series X 9). With a diameter of 165 and 140 centimeters, they offer enough space to emphasize the high sharpness of the UHD display. "Magnetic Fluid Speakers" are designed to deliver the right sound to the super picture. They should also set new price margins for the resolution. Which, however, remained unmentioned.
The trends of CES 2013
Protoypen stage, however, has the OLED TV shown at the show. At 56 inches, it is the largest organic display ever. However, as the technique is still vulnerable, the performance also made it clear that a button press was enough, and the picture of the super-telecaster failed.
Sony wants to strengthen its position as a content provider. Not only 4K devices, but also corresponding films, should impress the cineastics. For example, blockbuster that has been produced with UHD resolution on Blu-ray will be available "Mastered in 4K". The goal is to provide more image information than the conventional Blu-ray films, thanks to the special processing. 4K TVs are able to use, so Sony, this additional information in the picture composition. The title is "The Amazing Spider-Man," "Total Recall," "The Karate Kid," "Battle: Los Angeles," "The Other Guys."
