Devolo Home Control in test

Devolo currently offers nine solid-processed products for its smart home system HomeControl.

Conclusion

Installation work does not require any work on the power supply or conversion. The powerline tradition of Devolo shows itself at the head office: It looks not only like a Powerline adapter, but it can be connected via Ethernet cable also via Powerline into the home network. The communication to the components takes place via the radio standard Z-Wave. In addition to the company's own headquarters, the center can also network with other products.

Devolo HomeControl: details

The devolo portfolio can be used to regulate heating, lighting or other electricity consumers. The control can take place via smartphone or tablet from home or on the road, as well as via wall buttons or remote control. For safety, smoke detectors, door-window contacts and motion sensors provide the inhabitants with an alarm by e-mail or SMS. Devolo products are not currently available from Devolo, but they are expected to follow in the spring.

The installation is simple thanks to detailed information. Also, the creation of automations (e.g., if-then rules, time control) should not pose a problem to most. The response times of the app should be somewhat shorter. What security fans should look forward to: HomeControl also works without Internet.

Despite the optimization potential of the smartphone and tablet apps: With Devolo Home Control, everyone can enjoy a smart and secure home without any hassle.
