With TechniSat, the network function, which others want to implement later, is already a reality and for many an important purchase criterion. In fact, not only is the convenient management of thousands of TV stations found easier, but TechniSat takes the last bold step and copying happily recorded broadcasts via the network SD as HD. The fact that the gigabytes of the gigabytes is a bit of a drag can be lost, but one is rewarded with a TechniSat free downloadable administrative program, which converts the movie data (no HDTV) to burn them directly to DVD

In the operating philosophy or menu structure nothing has changed compared to the previous models. This gives the advantage that old TechniSat hops can cope immediately with the device, but it looks old-bodied.


The TechniSat also has two tuners, but it does not use a crossover function and the possibility to view at least a majority of the other stations during a recording, if only one satellite connection is available. Also the parallel recording functions are limited and not as variable as with Humax, Topfield and Homecast. Worthy of note is TechniSat's in-house transmitter management isipro. When changing broadcasting frequencies, adding new stations or setting them, it is very easy to keep the channel list up to date - mostly fully automatic. TechniSats programmer SFIplus does not collect the data of the individual transponders, but is loaded (at night) as a complete data set. So all programs are always available quickly.


The TechniSat is also available in a recommended 500-Gbyte variant for 750 euros and is the only participant a decoding method firmly integrated: Conax. A trial card is included with the Pay-Radio Techni-Radio (20 Euro per year for 15 stations).
