The setup is done using the Seagate Dashboard tool. Here you assign a name for the disk as well as a user name and a password for the administrator. Share and backup folders for two additional users and for media sharing via UPnP or DLNA can be created in the user interface of the hard drive under “Seagate Share”
If more than three users want to access the device or back up three computers on the GoFlex, a premium subscription is required. This also applies to smartphone access.
The test rate was 20 MByte / s as a data rate when writing. When reading, Seagate's network storage convinced with very fast 60 MB / s. The English-language user manual must be downloaded from the manufacturer.
