EIZO CS240 tested - ColorEdge monitors

Eizo’s ColorEdge monitors are used wherever accurate color reproduction is required, such as graphics, pre-press, or film production. With prices starting at 1,000 euros, these screens are reserved for professional users. A more affordable entry is to offer the monitors of the CS series, to which the CS240 counts with almost 700 euros. The main difference is the missing sensor for color calibration. Otherwise, the device is distinguished by a 24-inch IPS panel with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, which corresponds to a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Due to the wide frame, the monitor looks optically stale, but the case brings a high level of stability and robust mechanics, including height adjustment and pivot function. Already at first glance the CS240 shows an excellent image reproduction.

The gamma is precisely set to the default of 2.2 and the display is extremely homogeneously illuminated with 99.1 percent. Color sequences are perfectly displayed. In view angle measurement, the CS240 cuts out very well, the response time of 21.5 ms is only average.

The Eizo CS240 is characterized by excellent image quality with an enormous color range. The comparatively low price makes it an ideal choice for semiprofessional users.
