Unlike traditional hard-disk drive (HDD) hard disk drives, Solid-State Drives (SSD) work entirely electronically on a flash-based basis. An operating system does not have to search for the appropriate data on an SSD or to read it by means of a read head, but can read it more or less directly from the flash memory. Accordingly, you should avoid defragmenting your SSD. The more frequent write accesses occur on an SSD, the more the lifetime is shortened.

Then type "regedit" and confirm with "Enter". Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management \ PrefetchParameters key, double-click EnablePrefetcher, and change the value to 0 (zero). Restart the computer and the changes will be active.


"Superfetch" loads frequently used programs into memory. This speeds up the work on Windows, but usually extends the system startup. The use of an SSD does not require the start of programs from the RAM. Although SSDs are much slower than the PC's memory, you have to be very sensitive to actually notice this difference.
