In the PC-assembly one comes at some time to the graphics card. But which one should it be? In the introductory class, AMD seems soon to be more attractive.
AMD counteracts Nvidia: While the Geforce manufacturer presented its GTX 1050 (Ti) to the public from the end of October - graphics cards with current technology to take AMD market shares in the current entry segment - the competitor lowers the prices. AMD has revealed new list prices for the Radeon RX 460 and Radeon RX 470 in an e-mail to the hardware game site Gamers Nexus. According to this, the price of the RX 460 (2 GB) drops from 110 to 100 MSRP and the RX 470 from 180 to 170 MSRP.
MSRP stands for "manufacturer's suggestet retail price" and is practically the opposite of the manufacturer's recommended retail price (RRP) on the local market. Graphics cards with the Radeon RX 460 chips are available here in the best case for end users from 115 euros to buy. Cards with the next chip Radeon RX470 start at around 200 euros. These prices correspond to the previous week. It remains to be seen when the current prices are coming from the hardware partners and ultimately from the online shops.
Where the chips GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti from Nvidia in terms of performance sorting, tests still have to show. They are priced according to Nvidia recommendation at 125 (non-Ti) and 155 euro (Ti). In the trade, end-user cards are likely to be somewhat more expensive. This gives the conclusion that with a Radeon RX 460, you are more cost-effective to the latest interfaces such as HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4 for 4K content - for example, for integration into small media player PCs.
The performance of the Radeon RX 460 is enough for older and simple current titles such as Dota 2 or League of Legends. With current shooters it would need one of the larger chip variants. Just look at the prices in the coming days and take the amounts stated here as a guideline for the price. The message on Gamers Nexus can be found here.
