Are there larger and longer disturbances in your picture like a dog on the beach or a power pole visible? Then, you can show the program which image you want to copy over the error, and the repair brush does the rest. Hard passes between retouching and the original take same Photoshop & Co. off automatically. Here’s how to do it in the various Photoshop editions

1. Press the Alt key once to place the image in an image that is to cover the error. This defines the copy source. You will see a crosshair.
2. Paint the fault. The program now copies pixels from the area that you clicked in step 1 while Alt key is pressed. This region is indicated by a cross. If you get unsuitable results, hold down the Alt key and click a different location. See more bugs or flashy repeats, retouch them there. Instead of the repair brush, you can also take the area repair brush. This will pull you through the error without a previous Alt-click.
However, they have less control over the result, it works best in a very uniform environment. Drag over elongated faults such as current masts with a single movement without releasing the mute button between them. To remove a power line or fence pile, first click on the beginning of the object and hold down the Shift key on the end - the tool pulls an even track between the two points. Tip: In very troubled, detailed pictures, the retouching automatic fails - the correction works too noticeably.
Then use the copying stamp instead of the repair brush. You first define an origin with the Alt key pressed and then drag over the error. The stamp always copies the pixels 1: 1, nothing is automatically adjusted. Thus the retouching can be better planned, neighboring structures do not appear unintentionally above the disturbance. The copy deck is also best suited to the edge of the picture or to the edge of the objects.
Lightroom and the Photoshop-RAW dialog are similar: Set the Repair Area tool from "Repair" to "Copy Stamps."
