Many IBAN calculators add the leading zeros that you enter, resulting in ten digits. In combination with the bank code and the country code “DE”, the IBAN computer calculates the checksum, which can be used to identify typographical errors. Because banks may use calculation rules that deviate from this pattern, IBAN machines may produce invalid results. You should therefore look at your bank for IBAN and BIC.
